Wanaparthy dist: State Minister for Roads, Buildings, and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the government is striving to develop roads, irrigation projects, and industries, and to create employment opportunities in the undivided Palamuru district.
He emphasized that Palamuru is no longer a backward district but is surging ahead on the path of development.
On Monday, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, accompanied by his colleague and State Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, attended as the chief guest and laid the foundation stone for road development works under the HAM project in Wanaparthy district, costing ₹359.09 crore.
Also present were State Excise, Tourism, and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao; Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy; District Collector Adarsh Surabhi; District SP Sunitha Reddy; Devarakadra MLA G. Madhusudan Reddy; Kalwakurthy MLA Kasireddy Narayana Reddy; Nagarkurnool MLA Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy; Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar; and Telangana State Sports Authority Chairman Shivasena Reddy.
Under the Hybrid Annuity Model, roads are constructed through a partnership between the government and private entities.
This model enables the government and private entities to share the financial burden, while also increasing the likelihood of infrastructure projects being completed quickly and efficiently.
As part of this initiative, foundation stones were laid for road strengthening and widening projects totaling 171.96 km in length, with an estimated value of ₹369.09 crore.
These include strengthening the Atmakur road (4.70 km, ₹6.04 crore); widening the Madharam-Marchala road in Nagarkurnool district to two lanes (12.00 km, ₹32.96 crore); and widening the Pedda Dagada-Velagonda road (via Gudem, Bekkem, and Miyapur) to two lanes (16.60 km, ₹45.60 crore).
Subsequently, the Minister participated in and addressed a public meeting held at Rajiv Crossroads in Wanaparthy.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the government is committed to the comprehensive development of roads in the undivided Palamuru district.
He announced readiness to sanction funds amounting to ₹3,000 crore for road development in the undivided Mahabubnagar district. He mentioned that excellent roads have been sanctioned for the Kurumurthy Swamy Temple and pledged that the district would have impeccable, high-quality roads by 2028.
He asserted that Palamuru is no longer a backward district, noting that the government is striving to create employment opportunities and develop industries and irrigation projects alongside road infrastructure.
He also highlighted the provision of ration cards and 'Indiramma' houses to the public since the people's government assumed office. ...stated that welfare schemes such as the supply of fine-quality rice are being provided.
Minister for Excise, Tourism, and Culture, Jupally Krishna Rao, stated that road development works worth ₹359.09 crore are being undertaken in Wanaparthy district.
He noted that despite the state's challenging financial situation, the government is successfully implementing the 'Six Guarantees'—including Indiramma houses, fine-quality rice, Rythu Bharosa, and loan waivers.
Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy expressed happiness over laying the foundation stone for road development works worth ₹359.09 crore in the district today.
He highlighted various development initiatives brought to Wanaparthy, such as an IT Tower, the construction of Indiramma houses worth ₹275 crore, and a 'Young India' Residential School.
He mentioned that over ₹2,000 crore in funds had already been secured for the district's development and requested Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to sanction an additional ₹124 crore to upgrade all major roads in Wanaparthy into double-lane roads.
Devarakadra MLA G. Madhusudan Reddy recalled that Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had sacrificed their positions in the past for the cause of Telangana. He expressed confidence that the people's government would continue in power until 2034.
He noted that the foundation stone for the ₹359.09 crore HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) road project had been laid and assured that the development of roads leading to the Kurumurthy Swamy temple would also be completed swiftly.
