Hyderabad: The Congress government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has completed 1,000 days in office, marking what the government described as a significant phase of people-centric governance focused on welfare, social justice, economic growth and world-class infrastructure.
According to the government, Telangana’s per capita income reached Rs 4,18,931 in 2025-26, around 91 per cent higher than the national average. The government said its focus on investment, employment, infrastructure and technology had been pursued alongside welfare initiatives.
In the agriculture sector, crop loans of up to Rs 2 lakh were waived for more than 25 lakh farming families, while over Rs 36,000 crore was provided under Rythu Bharosa.
A Rs 500-per-quintal bonus for fine-variety paddy and free agricultural power were also highlighted.
Telangana procured 81.12 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the last Yasangi season. Under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women made more than 335 crore free journeys on RTC buses, saving nearly Rs 11,000 crore in travel costs.
Gruha Jyothi provides free electricity up to 200 units to over 53 lakh families, while LPG cylinders are supplied at Rs 500 to 43 lakh families.
More than 15 lakh new ration cards have been issued, providing food security to around 3.38 crore people. The government has also introduced the distribution of fine rice and smart ration cards.
Under the Indiramma housing programme, 4.50 lakh houses are being taken up in the first phase, with Rs 5 lakh assistance for each eligible family.
The government cited the State-wide caste survey and SC sub-categorisation as major social justice measures. The Assembly has also approved bills proposing 42 per cent reservation for BCs in education, employment and politics.
In education, Telangana improved from 28th to 18th position in the Performance Grading Index. The government has sanctioned 105 Young India Integrated Residential Schools and recruited 10,006 teachers through Mega DSC.
More than 72,000 government employees have been recruited, while 65 ITIs and 57 polytechnic colleges are being transformed into Advanced Technology Centres.
Healthcare infrastructure has also been expanded, with Rajiv Aarogyasri coverage increased to Rs 10 lakh. A new 2,000-bed Osmania Hospital and three TIMS super-specialty hospitals are among the major projects.
The government has launched TG SAFE to combat food adulteration and strengthened anti-drug measures through EAGLE. Praja Vani has been extended to the mandal level to make grievance redressal more accessible.
Major infrastructure projects include the 360-km Regional Ring Road, 6,092 km of HAM roads, Hyderabad Metro Phase-II covering 122.9 km, and the Musi rejuvenation project.
The government said Rs 1.29 lakh crore in investments had been secured through TG-iPASS, while Rs 5.75 lakh crore worth of investment agreements were signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit-2025.
Looking ahead, the Telangana Rising 2047 vision targets a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, with plans for Bharat Future City, AI infrastructure, data centres, Metro expansion, Musi rejuvenation, Young India Skills University and a Sports University.
