Kurnool: Minister for Industries, Commerce and Food Processing, TG Bharath Gupta, has appealed for government support towards the development of the Gayatri Goshala in Kurnool, which is regarded as one of the largest cow shelters in the state.
Along with members of the Gayatri Goshala Committee, the minister met Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy at the State Secretariat in Amaravati and submitted a representation highlighting the needs of the institution.
During the meeting, TG Bharat Gupta explained that the Goshala, located on the outskirts of Kurnool city, currently provides shelter to more than 1,200 cows and has been serving as a major center for cow protection and welfare.
The Minister stated that the Goshala has been functioning with the support of philanthropists and donors, particularly in meeting the recurring expenses related to fodder and maintenance of the animals.
He said that Endowments Minister was requested to facilitate assistance from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the further development of the Goshala.
In addition, he proposed the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple on the Goshala premises under the auspices of TTD, which, he said, would enhance the spiritual and cultural significance of the facility while attracting greater public participation and support.
He also urged the government to extend assistance for the development of land belonging to the Endowments Department’s Goshala in Kurnool.
According to the Minister, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy responded positively to the requests and assured consideration of the proposals.
Bharat Gupta recalled that the Endowments Minister had previously visited the Gayatri Goshala during his tour of Kurnool and was well aware of its activities and importance.
Gayatri Goshala Committee President Jagadish Gupta and other committee members were also present during the meeting.
