Khanapur: Khanapur Government Hospital will be modernized and equipped with better facilities, MLA Vedma Bojju Patel said on Wednesday.

During his visit to the hospital, the MLA inspected the facilities and held discussions with doctors and medical staff about their problems.

Patel said he had recently appealed to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for funds and a comprehensive plan to improve the hospital.

He said steps were being taken to fill vacant posts, including MD, orthopedic and surgeon positions, to strengthen medical services. Some doctors have already joined, while the remaining vacancies will be filled soon.

The MLA said additional land was being acquired to upgrade the hospital into an Area Hospital. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Swarna Reddy, doctors and Congress leaders attended the programme.
