Hyderabad: District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala has emphasised the importance of completing the 'Two-Bedroom' (2BHK) houses under a government scheme aimed at providing affordable homes for the poor and destitute.
She directed officials to expedite construction work and ensure continuous monitoring.
On Tuesday, the Collector inspected the 2BHK site at Bhojagutta in Asif Nagar, accompanied by Housing PD Ashok Chakravarthy, RDO Ramakrishna, GHMC EE Narsaiah, and other officials.
She toured the site, examined layout plans, and inquired about the current status of construction.
The contractor explained reasons for delays, prompting the Collector to instruct officials to address issues promptly and speed up progress.
She advised preparing a special action plan to complete all sanctioned houses within the stipulated timeframe. Officials reported that 1,824 houses had been approved for Bhojagutta, with construction ongoing across 73 blocks spanning 13 acres.
Currently, 192 units are nearing completion, while others remain in various stages of development.
The Collector also directed continuous on-site monitoring to accelerate the work.
Participants included Tahsildar Jyothi, GHMC DE Kaleem, Housing Assistant Engineers Manoj and Manasa, the contractor, revenue staff, and others.
