Govt to agree for 4 key demands of employees

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju held a meeting with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at the state Secretariat on Tuesday and apprised them of the status of the finalization of the PRC report. 

The three other main demands of the pending DAs, implementation of the Employees’ Health Scheme and release of funds to clear the dues to the retired and in-service employees were also discussed in the meeting. 

Soon after the meeting, the Chief Secretary called the TGEJAC leaders on phone and informed them that the government is positive towards resolving the main demands. 

Sanjay Jaju called for another round of meeting with the employees’ union leaders on Wednesday to sort out the demands. 

Officials said that the Chief Secretary briefed the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on the financial implications on the state government if the four demands are met. 

“Availability of financial resources is crucial to accept the demands of the employees’ unions,” the officials explained. 

The Chief Secretary will inform the JAC leaders about the state government‘s action plan to implement the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC), mainly the enhancement of the pay scales, disbursement of pending dearness allowances (DAs) and the clearance of the bills pertaining to the retirement benefits and employees in the service. 

The Chief Secretary also enquired PRC headed by retired IAS officer Shiva Shankar about the completion of the report and the same would be updated to the JAC in the meeting. 

The TGEJAC leadership has already brought to the government's attention the proposal to prioritize the settlement of pending bills by allocating 50 per cent of the funds to serving employees and 50 per cent to retired employees. 

They also urged for the full-scale and effective implementation of the EHS to provide better medical services to employees and pensioners, TGEJAC Chairman M Jagadish said.
