Khanapur: Construction of Indiramma houses, drainage canals, Anganwadi buildings, roads, bridges, and other works are stalled because permissions are not granted, Bojju Patel points out Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju Patel stated that officials should take the initiative to remove forest-related obstacles in development works in remote tribal villages.
A meeting was held at the Nirmal District Collectorate with district Collector Bhavesh Mishra, the MLA, and others to discuss issues faced by villages such as Allampalli, Bhava Nayak Tanda, and Dondari in the Kadam mandal.
Speaking at the meeting, the MLA said that due to the Forest department’s restrictions many villages are unable to carry out development works, causing severe difficulties for the people. He mentioned that construction of Indiramma houses, drainage canals, Anganwadi buildings, roads, bridges, and other works are stalled because permissions are not granted.
As a result, these areas remain deprived of development. He urged officials to work towards resolving all these issues. He also emphasised the need for electricity facilities and improved telecommunication systems. Where necessary, forest and revenue officials should conduct joint surveys and grant permissions for the works, he added.
District Collector Bhavesh Mishra assured that officials would work to resolve the villagers’ problems. He said that any cooperation required within his jurisdiction would be provided, and necessary action would be taken for certain works.
He promised steps would be taken for the development of these villages and urged people to bring any issues to his attention. The meeting was attended by District Forest Officer Sushant Sukhdev Bobade, SDLNA Naikwadi Jal Kumari, Electricity Department EE Subhash, Panchayat Raj SE Shankar, Khanapur Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Bhimanna, other officials, and villagers from several villages.
