ANANTAPUR: District Horticulture Officer Umadevi on Thursday urged all horticultural farmers in Anantapur district to enroll in the weather-based crop insurance scheme before the July 31 deadline.

Highlighting that dry chili falls under standard insurance, she stated that weather-based coverage applies to pomegranate, sweet lime, banana, and tomato.
Per-acre premium rates are set at Rs.3,750 for pomegranate, Rs. 2,750 for sweet lime, Rs. 3,000 for banana, and Rs. 1,600 for tomato. With monsoon rainfall remaining deficit,
