Hyderabad: Rangareddy district administration launches extensive campaign using gram sabhas to ensure every eligible cultivator secures a unique ID Rangareddy:
While farmers in Rangareddy district are busy harvesting their paddy crop and bringing it to procurement centres, the district administration has rolled out a campaign to ensure everyone registers in the Farmers’ Registry to receive all benefits of welfare initiatives introduced by the government.
Gram sabhas are being used to propagate this measure, urging farmers to get registered to avail welfare benefits.
On Thursday, Additional Collector Chandra Reddy took part in a gram sabha program held in Moinabad mandal and focused attention on the registry and the process of ID registration.
Registration in the registry is mandatory for farmers to receive various welfare schemes, subsidies, investment assistance, and other agriculture-related benefits provided by the government in a timely manner, the additional collector said while addressing the gathering.
Every farmer with one gunta of land should register in the registry and get a unique ID, he stated, instructing the concerned officials to identify unregistered farmers in the villages and complete the registration process expeditiously.
It was suggested that special steps should be taken to ensure that the benefits of this program reach all farmers across the district. Chandra Reddy stated that registration will ensure that farmers receive the benefits of government schemes in a transparent and speedy manner.
The officials should pay special attention to ensuring that every single eligible farmer gets an ID.
The additional collector also suggested that farmers should cultivate crops suitable for the weather and prepare crop plans as per the advice of the agriculture department.
Apart from Mandal Special Officer Kishan Rao, the Tehsildar, MPDO, and other mandal level officials beside village secretaries, ward members, public representatives, and farmers participated.
