Hyderabad: A major political slugfest between the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the ruling Congress is on the cards over the next two weeks, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy preparing to tighten the noose around KCR family on alleged land encroachments by them and other BRS leaders. 

Interestingly, the Chief Minister, apparently setting aside official activities, is busy these days seeking regular updates on survey reports with documentary evidence from official delegations visiting the farmhouses of BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), party working president KT Rama Rao, senior party leader T Harish Rao and other BRS leaders across the state. 

The reason for the intense activity is that the Chief Minister is doing his homework to make a big statement on the illegal occupation of lands by the KCR family and other BRS senior leaders at two public meetings scheduled to be held in Sircilla and Siddipet on September 30 and in the October first week. 

According to top-level sources, Revanth Reddy has instructed his party cadre and leadership of the Siddipet and Sircilla districts to make elaborate arrangements for the two public meetings. 

For, the Chief Minister wants to display his political power in KTR and Harish Rao’s strongholds. 

 It is learnt that a preliminary report on KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse and agricultural lands owned by KTR and Harish around the Hyderabad city has already been submitted to the Chief Minister. 

“The Chief Minister sought some more details to ascertain the ownership of the lands through illegal means. A piece of assigned land was included in the KCR’s farmhouse, and an in-depth probe is under way to establish it with evidence,” official sources said. 

The Chief Minister is planning to release in the public meetings certain documents pertaining to the KCR family’s properties and ‘expose’ the BRS leaders’ alleged land scam during the 10-year BRS rule in the Telangana state, according to the sources. 

“The lands owned by all senior BRS leaders of old Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Khammam and Warangal districts are already under scrutiny. 

The government would make public the details of the lands owned by the leaders through illegal means at the right time,” sources said. 

The Revenue Department is conducting the survey, aside from addressing the 22 A prohibited list of lands. An official committee led by State Secretary to Revenue Lokesh Kumar is studying the lands listed in the 22 A.
