Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday alleged that the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government under K Chandrashekar Rao benefitted primarily his family, while the Congress government was working for the welfare of the common people.
Addressing the ‘Praja Palana Pragathi Bata’ public meeting in Parkal, Revanth Reddy said: “While KCR's governance represented 'family justice' —focused solely on the well-being of his own family, the Congress government stands for 'social justice,' ensuring fairness to all sections of society”.
The Chief Minister said his government was committed to the welfare of farmers, women, and unemployed youth. He said the Congress would present facts and figures to demonstrate the difference between the previous government and the present administration.
Urging people to ensure that the Congress returned to power in the next Assembly elections, Revanth observed: “If KCR becomes chief minister, only his family will benefit. With Praja Palana, the public benefits.”
His government was ready to present facts and figures to show who benefitted under different regimes, he added.
The Chief Minister announced that the Legislative Assembly sessions would be held in September.
Revanth Reddy appealed to people to ensure the victory of local Congress MLAs with increased majorities in the 2029 elections.
“Ours is a government that works for the common people. I will work tirelessly for you and resolve your issues,” he declared.
Revanth Reddy said that as long as he had the blessings of people, “even a thousand KCRs” could not harm him. He criticised the BRS leadership and alleged that workers of the pink party were being neglected.
Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous BRS government had concentrated key political positions within KCR’s family and among his close associates, while claiming that the Congress government had provided opportunities to leaders from different sections. “When KCR was chief minister, he appointed his son KTR and son-in-law Harish as Ministers.
As soon as I became Chief Minister, I appointed Seethakka and Konda Surekha as Ministers. When KCR was chief minister, he gave a ministerial post to Errabelli Dayakar Rao; after I became Chief Minister, I gave a ministerial post to Adluri Laxman.
KCR made his daughter an MP and, after she lost, made her an MLC, whereas I facilitated Kavya in becoming an MP and Yashaswini in becoming an MLA.
KCR also made his brother-in-law’s son Santosh Rao an MP, while I gave the Rajya Sabha seat to Vem Narendar Reddy in the spirit of friendship and alliance.
KCR appointed Vinod Rao as Vice-Chairman of the Planning Board, while I appointed movement activist Kodandaram as an MLC.
KCR appointed his son KTR as working president, whereas under my regime Mahesh Goud has become TPCC president,” he said.
