Australia beat Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs on Day 2 of the second Test, at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, in Mackay, on Sunday, to tie the two-match series 1-1.
Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins did the bulk of damage as the hosts hit back hard after their humiliation in Darwin.
Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 29, after Taskin Ahmed (8) and Shoriful Islam (0) were dismissed by Nathan Lyon immediately after the tea break. Lyon took the last two wickets in three balls straight after the teabreak to wrap up the match.
Starc had figures of 4 for 39 while Cummins took 3 for 10 after Australia were dismissed for 210 in their first innings before lunch. Lyon ended up with three wickets for 25 runs.
Australia added 45 runs to their overnight score in 12.3 overs for an overall lead of 146 runs.
In reply, Bangladesh's second innings ran into early trouble, as Starc struck twice in the third over, dismissing Shadman Islam for 1, and Mominul Haque for nought off the next delivery.
Skipper Cummins then sent opener Tanzid Hasan back for 9 as Bangladesh were reduced to 39 for 3 just before lunch, 107 runs in arrears.
Starc took two wickets off successive deliveries, having opener Islam caught by Marnus Labuschagne for one, before bowling Haque for a duck, the No. 3 batter failing to play a shot.
Hasan was caught by Starc at deep fine leg after a miscued pull shot off the bowling of Cummins.
Bangladesh lost five wickets after resuming at 39 for three after lunch, Starc and Cummins taking two wickets each and spinner Nathan Lyon effecting the key dismissal of captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for 31.
Number four batter Shanto bungled a lofted drive off Lyon to give Starc an easy catch at long-off.
Left-arm paceman Starc had wicketkeeper Litton Das caught in the slips for a second successive duck and later bowled tailender Taijul Islam for 11.
Cummins dismissed all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz for one and Hasan Mahmud for two.
Earlier, Australia resumed on 165 for eight in the morning in reply to Bangladesh's first innings 64.

Tailenders Nathan Lyon (32 not out) and Josh Hazlewood frustrated Bangladesh with a 24-run partnership for the 10th wicket before Hazlewood was caught for six by Shadman Islam after top-edging an attempted slog-sweep off left-arm spinner Taijul Islam.
