Vijayawada :  Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha described the recent attack on a police officer on duty as very unfortunate. She stated that Home Guard Venkataramana was assaulted with a knife by a group of individuals near Lankelapalem, where he was performing his duties. 

The officer sustained injuries in the incident. Today (Sunday), Minister Anitha visited Venkataramana at KIMS Hospital, where he is receiving treatment, and offered her support and condolences to his family. She inquired about his health and directed officials to ensure he receives the best possible medical care. 

Anitha praised the police for their prompt response, stating that Venkataramana was quickly admitted to hospital and is now under medical supervision. She confirmed that the suspects involved have been arrested and that strict legal action is underway. 

The Home Minister urged the police to remain vigilant to prevent such incidents in future and assured that strong measures would be put in place.

She called on the public to cooperate with law enforcement and highlighted the dedicated efforts of police personnel daily in maintaining safety.
