Vijayawada: Agriculture Department DirectorDr Manazir Jeelani Samoonsaid the Department of Fertilisers, Government of India, has allocated 25.10 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of various fertilisers to Andhra Pradesh for the Rabi 2026–27 season.
The allocation is 2.02 lakh MT higher than the 23.08 lakh MT allotted to the State during the previous year.
A national-level zonal conference on Rabi 2026–27 crops was held on Friday to review fertiliser requirements, availability and allocations across States.
Agriculture Department Secretaries and Commissioners from various States participated in the conference.
Senior officials from the Union Department of Fertilisers, including Secretary Atish Chandra, Joint Secretaries Franklin L Khobung and Vandana Preyasi, and Director (Movement) Abhay Sharma, reviewed the requirements. Andhra Pradesh was represented by Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon.
The fertiliser requirement was assessed based on the estimated cropped area, crop pattern, soil fertility, nutrient availability and consumption trends over the past five years.
Andhra Pradesh’s agriculture and horticulture area for Rabi 2026–27 has been estimated at 51.76 lakh hectares. The allocation covers major fertilisers such as urea, DAP, MOP, SSP and complex fertilisers.
