Haritha Haram was started by the CM KCR with a noble intent to increase greenery in the State, which in turn will help in realizing the goal of golden Telangana, he said.
Although the previous governments conducted tree-plantations in a big way but failed to protect plants, he said. Decreasing forest area has led to increasing migration of wild animals into cities and villages, causing a lot of inconvenience to people, he said.
