Woman IAS Officer Gets Death Threats From Sand Mafia
Police have provided additional security to a woman IAS officer posted in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, after she claimed threat to her life from the sand mining mafia. Additional district magistrate Sonia Meena, a 2013-batch IAS officer, has written to the chief secretary BP Singh, stating that she has learnt that Arjun Singh Bundela, lodged in Chhatarpur jail, is planning an attack on her.
Sand Mining Mafia has been raising its ugly face, the state government have increased security given to Meena who is also the district panchayat’s chief executive officer. During her posting as a sub-divisional magistrate in Chhatarpur district’s Rajnagar area, Meena had taken action against illegal sand mining following the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s directions.
During one of the raids on February 2, this year against mining mafia, she and her security guard were attacked and threatened at gunpoint by a man called Arjun Singh Bundela. Following the incident, Bundela was arrested. The accused is conspiring to attack her again through his henchmen….IAS officer fears for my life.
It should be kept in mind that there are thousands of criminals like, Bundela across the nation who have long criminal records and have been accused of attempt to murder among other offences.and there is urgent need to ensure law takes own couse of action and bail is denied to sucg culprits.
The case of attack on her and her guard by Bundela is coming up for hearing at the special court in Chhatarpur where she has to appear as a witness during which she apprehend danger to my life. She should be provided additional security during the journey to Chhatarpur court and back, so that she can give her statement without any hindrance and fear..
What is happening Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan?
